last night started innocently enough with a small gathering of english students over at helana’s house. helana was born to host parties. homemade pizzas, lots of beer, olive spread bread snacks, dips, tricks … top notch.
she even provided me with a costume.
with helana’s expert makeup work, daniel’s 70s purple suit, and chicago mel on hair dye, i went from lame guy with no costume to lame guy with great costume. as helana put it, “yes, you are pathetic, but that’s why i’m here.”
indeed.
when daniel and i left for carlotta street, shit got out of hand quickly. my favorite images of the night, followed by the gallery sea …

i saw two students there. the first one looked at me for at least 45 seconds before she said, ‘is it my teacher?’ the second one walked right up, shook my hand and said, ‘hi mr. casper.’

it’s a toss up for me dude. it’s either the kid dressed up as a redcoat smoking a cigarette on page 2 or the dude with the hockey-mask-and-t-shirt-i-bought-at-the-mall ensemble on page 1. oh yeah, the picture of you, legs crossed, in the rattan chair is pretty fucking priceless too.
i like the kid in the purple shirt, surprised look, no real costume except that he’s holding a huge, huge, plastic cup filled with booze.
Yes, this was a splendiforous Halloween indeed! And, I think you make an excellent Joker. You’re an even more badass Joker than all of the other Jokers because you didn’t run around saying Dark Knight quotes.
