1. the boys look brilliant. must be something in the alcohol and cigarettes up there that makes them age so gracefully.
2. when the shot suddenly focuses in on paco in the corner of the bar … killin’ me. that’s exactly where and how paco should always enter a narrative.
3. some mornings waking up in baton rouge makes it hard to believe i used to wake up in san francisco.

yeah man, if anyone wants to know what it’s like living in san francisco, this is the definitive video: walking around in mid june dressed like it’s the dead of winter, jacking around in the mission and drinking beer in the middle of the day. go home, take a shower at night and keep going.
moving back is still in the cards for me man. i’m starting to give up on any hopes/wants/needs for a “normal” life. i’d rather just be around my friends, live as cheaply as possible, and work as little as possible. i’ll die poor that way, but at least i had a good go at it.
i know what you say, man. i really miss my friends. the lack of any real family has always made the friends thing extra important to me. i’ve definitely got a few real good ones down here, and in time they’d become as meaningful as anyone, but its hard to find a substitute for all those years, you know? i was talking to darby the other night, and i was thinking to myself, ‘man, i went through a lot of shit with that guy.’ you can just feel it. i miss having all those people around me. i just need to kidnap them all and move then to the same compound so i feel safe and loved. ‘take me home and love me!’
