spoon is right up there, kids.

they give it and take it away and give it a bit more and take it back and then give it some more and … you know the drill. black and white and black. on and off and on. ‘very aware of their craft,’ as shippy put it. they lay it out clean with enough heart to make you buy it, no questions asked. sonically inventive and plenty raw. sounded great, looked great, played great. two encores. killed it.

a fine venue and a fine evening. we made it to the front row of the balcony and were in the best place on earth for about two hours.

and we knew it.
