1. the last two mornings i’ve woken up feeling like i was prize fighting all night. just beat to hell tired. no drinking either. white, i promise! no drinking.
2. i received a rather profound bit of psychotherapy from liz lemon the other night. re-read that. yes. tv’s liz lemon. jack told her something to the effect that she hides behind her humor so she doesn’t have to make meaningful connections with people. ouch. i do really like liz lemon. now i know it’s cause she’s me.
3. softball! i think i’m going to get stuck being the pitcher on our team. it’s alright, i guess. i just hope to get a little infield action in as well. i can’t decide if we’re going to be good, decent, or atrocious. it will probably depend on the weather. or how we look in our jerseys.
4. i broke my iphone and my new car within 48 hours of each other a week ago, but they’re both fixed now. the phone was a free fix. i upgraded before a hack was out for the upgrade. the car was $500. now i feel like the car is mine. it felt too nice before. now i know it’s got some problems, too, but they can be dealt with just fine with a little love and a shit load of money. just like me.
5. chelsea’s is still not serving booze down here, which means i essentially have no where to drink and listen to music. music night is becoming three to four nights a week here at the house, however. shippy, chicago, hurricane, flatbed. even tried to reel in a hot oboe player from the bar the other night, but i get the feeling that’s not gonna pan out. reed players are flakes.
6. i want to take a cheap, relaxing vacation for fall break at the end of this week. but i have no idea where to go and no one to go with. ideas?
7. baton rouge might have the best gelato place in the country. it just opened up. i went yesterday. the purveyors are from rome. rome, italy, not rome, georgia. they’re classy. i don’t know why they are here.
8. watching the yankees red sox briefly last night while grading papers, i realized how shameful the offensive lineup the giants put on the field this year was. the best pitching staff in baseball and a double a lineup. way to go sabean. shameful.
9. i miss seasons. i wanna drive through illinois in the fall in my new car. and i want to burn leaves when i get there.
10. i have work to do.
