SAM TRIPOLI, THE FINAL “I WANT TO BE HOWARD STERN” FINALIST
Sam Tripoli, the third I Want To Be Howard Stern finalist, stopped by with his co-host, Nader, to discuss their plans for tonight’s test show (7pm ET on Howard 101). Sam said they actually started on XM radio’s old National Lampoon channel, and they’ll be doing a version of that show, “Hollywood Report,” this evening with the help of a secret celebrity guest. Sam also joked about their unsuccessful stand-up careers and chances at winning the contest: “Do you guys take bribes? He’s Persian and I’m Armenian, so we’re [used] to negotiating.”
hearing nader on howard stern this morning was mind altering. i actually missed the original play and had to get the replay in my car after i taught. they did great … as soon as i get audio of it, i’ll post it so you can all hear the interview.
they’re in the midst of their show now … commercial break. just took a call from some ufc deuche bag joe rogan. not nader’s idea, i’m sure … nader just did a commercial read. klondike bars. i’m trying to call in, but can’t get through.
now they’ve got sebastian bach from skid row on … i’m not sure it’s actually sebastian bach. i guess it is. weird.

hey man – thanks again for all of the support with this thing. we’re getting slammed by stern fans on the message boards! funny shit man. i think one of the most surreal parts of this entire journey was sitting in the sirius studios across the street from radio city music hall and hearing an old childhood friend call in and tell a story about some stupid shit i said as a kid.i had not spoken to this guy in years. that was really, REALLY fucking crazy man. anyway, i’m sitting in JFK airport at the moment as i’m writing this. i’m trying to get everyone i know to vote for us on the stern website. i’m exhausted and delirious and hung over from drinking in the east village last night and i wouldn’t have it any other way.
white, stop reading those damn message boards already. you should hear them slam HOWARD on those things. ironic, i know, that most people spend their time on the (howard) stern fan network slamming howard stern. you guys did great, man. maybe it’s schtick, but i’m a little miffed at sam’s ’sidekick’ kind of mentality at times. your shit is much more interesting. he’s quick, but you’re cool. cool wins big in the long run. plus, you don’t know shit about ufc. that says a lot right there.
