holy shit kc.
it looks strangely like our place during the ice storm this feb.
our power was out for 4 1/2 of the worst days of our lives (of course it was 20 deg. outside, and the power controls our water and heat) but 7 days and still no power sucks.
the linemen told us the same shit about it only being another minute.
i think they make a point of fucking with people (their subtle ‘am i still hangin’ from the pole, dumbass?’) they’re making $45/hr regardless of customer satisfaction.
if this shit happens this bad again, please:
a) get in your car and drive to our house, or
b) tell me, ‘dude, it’s really bad’, so I can come rescue your ass, bring y’all some food (and whiskey), and do some clean-up in the meantime. i’ve been looking for a reason to buy a new chainsaw.
i’ve seriously thought about coming dwon to help before (it’s only 9-10 hrs.) and that was when i didn’t know anyone.
we had no idea how bad it was-as you mentioned there has been no discussion on the news since it “missed” n.o.
but never fear, the mccains haven’t missed an opportunity to beg all our poor asses to help bc they care so fuckin’ much, all the while mocking obama’s community service in their next breath.
now that’s compassionate conservatism.
Do you have to eat the MREs or are you eating other food?
ick
i hope there’s no earthquake here while I’m here
that looks like no fun at all my friend
hope they gets you some air conditioning soon
if not take lefty to hooch’s
xxoo
as always, well put hooch. i’ve been thinking of maybe paying y’all a visit if ike comes through. we’ll have to see … sitting around sweating like a pig with no a/c certainly sux. but you kind of feel like part of the team, too. helping all the neighbors get gas and what not. i just don’t want a tree to crush the house, me, lefty, etc. hopefully the power will return, ike will turn hard left, life will go on as before …
luckily, i have food. been eating, all in all, pretty ok. the mre was not too good. if you hadn’t had warm food in a while, it would have been ok, but it was not too good. hooch’s sounds appealing, but we’re back at work today. no a/c in the english building. sweating – ass – off. ready for the juice. no to ike!
Nice to see you as tough as your old man… and having fun like we did… do you remember your dad and I deciding to burn funiture for heat…? In my apartment – in Decatur? You might have been 5 – maybe six…
keep on keeping on…
as always my warmest aloha!
cliff
hey cliff! great to hear from you! i don’t remember the furniture burning. but, i will remember it in the event of a winter hurricane as it’s a good trick (and most of my furniture would be just as valuable as a fuel source.)
hope alls well with you. i get updates from dad once in awhile. hope our paths cross again sometime. maybe we should meet in lewisville and burn up some of dad and kris’ living room set just for old time’s sake? think about it …
